Melissa Pearce graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology and English, in 2014. She later completed her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) together with a Diploma of Legal Practice in 2016. Melissa was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in early 2017 and has worked exclusively in Family Law ever since. Her passion for Family Law developed well before university, with a longstanding interest in the area dating back to her HSC years, and she focused much of her practical legal training on this field during her studies.
Melissa has built extensive experience in Family Law and is a highly regarded member of the Family Law team. She has assisted many clients in resolving their matters successfully, frequently achieving outcomes without the need for Court proceedings. Her particular area of expertise is property settlements following separation, including complex matters involving self-managed superannuation funds, trusts, companies, investment structures, bankruptcy issues, international jurisdictional matters and third-party interests.
Although Melissa has a strong track record of resolving disputes efficiently and with minimal stress and expense to her clients, she is also an experienced advocate in litigation matters. She has appeared in Family Law proceedings across the Newcastle, Parramatta and Sydney registries.
Known for her compassionate and client-focused approach, Melissa is regularly recognised for her meticulous preparation, strong organisational abilities, detailed assessment of evidence and keen attention to detail.
Outside of her professional life, she is a dedicated mother who enjoys balancing her rewarding legal career with raising her young family.
